The aim of an Advisory Visit is to give practical advice to organisations on how to improve data protection practice. It normally involves a visit from us to you of up to 3 hours and a short follow up report which we will send to you and which summarises what you should do next

You will benefit from our knowledge and experience to identify what you are doing well and what you need to improve and receive practical recommendations and suggestions to put things right.
How do we conduct a GDPR Advisory Visit?
We will give you an information sheet before the visit to explain what you can expect. We will also ask you to fill out a short questionnaire which we will review with you during our visit.
We will use the visit to understand what policies and procedures you have in place and how they can be improved. The visit will also be flexible enough to provide an opportunity for you to ask questions.
Within seven days of the visit, we will send you a short report which will summarise what we have discussed, and provide you with practical advice.
What main areas does a GDPR Advisory Visit cover?
The main areas that we will look at are:
- Your governance of data security
- Your guidance to and training of staff
- What personal data you hold, where it is kept and where that data came
- Who personal data is shared with and their data security measures
- Your consideration of the need for Data Protection Impact Assessments
- Your lawful bases of processing personal data
- How you seek, record and manage consent to process personal data

How long does a GDPR Advisory Visit take?
You will need to complete a short questionnaire before our site visit and we will spend up to 3 hours on site with you.
How much does a GDPR Advisory Visit cost?
Our charge for an Advisory Visit is £???, plus VAT [and our travel expenses (which will be charged at 45p per mile if we travel to you by motor vehicle or otherwise at cost)].
